Allwood Trading Company, a major supplier of German whitewood to the Middle East, has announced plans to exceed 200,000 cu. metres in annual shipping volume to the region this year at the sidelines of the ‘Dubai WoodShow 2010’, the Middle East's premier wood-focused exhibition at the Dubai Airport Expo. The company is also currently showcasing its high quality German whitewood to industry and trade professionals at the event, which opened today at the Dubai Airport Expo. At present, Allwood Trading Company operates in partnership with BAHO, a regional distributor of whitewood; and Ziegler Timber Industries, a large-scale manufacturer that processes logs into precision cut swan timber.

“During March to December 2009, we have shipped almost 100,000 cu. m. of German whitewood to the Middle East - a figure that exemplifies the potential in the region despite the global crisis,” said Aizaz Ahmed, Manager, Allwood Trading Company. “In addition to the economy, natural calamities such as the recent earthquake in Chile are also affecting the supply of timber. Every year, the ‘Dubai WoodShow’ event provides us with an exceptional opportunity to supply our products to customers looking to identify sources of high quality wood products. With successful years behind, we are confident that we will continue to service the Middle East market with the required quality and quantity in 2010 and beyond.”
